How can I make sure that a job posting is still current?
All job postings on our Careers page are kept up to date at all times. As soon as a position is filled, the corresponding job posting is removed from the Careers page. In some areas, we have ongoing hiring needs, so these job postings remain available for an extended period. If you still have questions, Eric Gottwald will be happy to assist you at 0421 5900 384.
I'm interested in several locations. What should I do?
In our job postings, you’ll find the locations where we currently have openings for each position. When applying, please select all the locations you’re interested in. This will allow us to process your application as quickly as possible. If your preferred location isn’t listed, feel free to send us a speculative application.
Can I apply for more than one position?
Of course, you can apply for multiple positions if they interest you. Simply submit two separate applications, and we will review them accordingly. If you are interested in a position at multiple locations, you can simply indicate this in your application.
I haven't found a suitable job posting—can I submit a speculative application?
Absolutely! If you're interested in joining our team but haven't found a suitable job posting, we'd love to receive your unsolicited application. In that case, please be sure to let us know which area of the company you're interested in.
What documents should I submit?
To complete your application, we need your resume and relevant certificates (high school diploma, journeyman’s certificate, etc.). For apprenticeship positions, a brief cover letter will also help us get to know you better and assess your qualifications.
In what format should I submit my online application?
Please submit your application materials in PDF format.
To whom should I address my cover letter?
You may address your cover letter to Eric Gottwald, but this is not required. In any case, your application will be forwarded to the relevant department.
Can I save my application and submit it later?
Of course, you can save your application and submit it at a later time. To do so, simply create an account using your email address and a password. With an account, you can also check the status of your application at any time. You can, of course, have your account deleted at any time.
Can I also submit my application by mail or in person at the company?
The best way to apply is online at karriere.tiemanngruppe.de. However, you may also submit your application in person. Applications submitted in this manner will be considered on an equal footing and will neither be given preferential treatment nor be disadvantaged.
Is it possible to change careers and join the Tiemann Group?
In certain areas of our company, career changers are also welcome; please refer to the relevant job posting for details. In these cases, we are happy to offer you various opportunities to further your education and training.
Can I complete an internship beforehand?
By all means — feel free to reach out to us! How are you supposed to know if you’ll enjoy a job unless you try it out first? I haven't received a confirmation of receipt. How can I make sure my application has been received?
If you apply through our career portal, you should automatically receive a confirmation from us once we’ve received your application. If you don’t, please check your spam folder and contact us by email if necessary.
I've submitted my application. What should I do now?
Please be sure to check your email regularly and, ideally, be available by phone. If we cannot reach you by phone or email, we unfortunately won’t be able to contact you to discuss next steps or update you on the status of your application.
What happens during the first in-person interview, and who attends?
You will have your interview with the relevant department head or company manager. Essentially, the goal is for us to get to know each other. The goal of the interview is for both sides to have a meaningful impression of each other by the end of the meeting. Accordingly, it’s not just about us getting to know you, but also about you gaining as much relevant insight as possible into our company, our corporate culture, and how we work.
Can I withdraw my application?
Yes, of course you can withdraw your application at any time if you are no longer interested. We will be notified accordingly and will immediately terminate the application process.
How secure are my application materials?
We take your privacy very seriously, which is why your data is transferred securely and in compliance with data protection regulations. Your data is treated as strictly confidential and is accessible only to authorized personnel. Unless you have given your express consent to the longer-term storage of your data, it will be automatically deleted after a period of 6 months.

How long will my application be kept on file?
Unless otherwise agreed with you, your application will be deleted from our database six months after we receive it. If you would like your data to be deleted sooner, just let us know—we will delete your application immediately.

When can I apply for the apprenticeship?
We post our apprenticeship openings every year starting in September for the following year. You can apply as long as the specific apprenticeship position is listed on our careers page. Don’t wait — apply now!

What requirements do I need to meet to start an apprenticeship at Tiemann?
Generally speaking, the high school diploma listed in the job posting is a prerequisite for the apprenticeship. Equally important is your willingness to learn new things and a genuine interest in the chosen field of study. Since values such as team spirit, a sense of responsibility, and, above all, respect are very important to the Tiemann Group, these should also be reflected in your behavior. As you can see, your grades aren’t everything to us.
What language skills do I need for an apprenticeship with the Tiemann Group?
To fully understand the material in your practical training and at vocational school, your German language skills should be at a good level. For apprenticeships in the business sector, a B2 language level is therefore required; for those in the technical sector, a B1 level is required.
How much will I earn during my apprenticeship?
We pay all our trainees a standard salary. We do not differentiate between the various apprenticeship programs or prior qualifications. The apprenticeship salary is structured as follows based on the year of training:
1st year of training: €1,092.00
2nd year of training: €1,187.00
Training year: €1,248.00
Training year: €1,275.00
In addition, our trainees receive vacation pay and a Christmas bonus.
Is there a way to shorten my training program?
In principle, it is possible to shorten the duration of your apprenticeship. The requirements for this are good performance both at vocational school and on the job. In addition, any potential shortening of the apprenticeship must always be discussed with your instructor—they will decide whether shortening the program is appropriate. The key factor is that your successful completion of the apprenticeship is not compromised.
What are the chances of being hired after completing the training program?
Our policy is simple: we train you with the intention of hiring you. This means that during your training, you’ll need to work hard to learn new skills and collaborate effectively with your team. Of course, you also need to enjoy the job. If this is the case, nothing stands in the way of your future with the Tiemann Group, and you can look forward to a permanent employment contract. This is the case for about 80% to 90% of our trainees, which fills us with great pride.
Can I pursue a dual degree program at the Tiemann Group?
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer a dual degree program at our company. Should this change in the future, the relevant dual degree position will be listed in our job postings.

Do I receive regular feedback on my work performance?
At Tiemann, we hold annual performance reviews with your manager. It’s important to us that you receive regular feedback from us. However, it is even more important to us that we create a space where we can discuss current issues with one another. In this context, we would like to give you the opportunity to provide feedback to us and your manager on how comfortable you feel working with us. If there are any issues that need addressing outside of the annual performance review, you can discuss them with your manager or Human Resources at any time.

Does the Tiemann Group offer the option of working remotely?
In some departments, it is possible to work from home part of the time, subject to approval by the appropriate supervisor. In other departments, such as our workshops, this is naturally difficult.

What qualifications do I need to start working at Tiemann as an automotive mechatronics technician (m/f/d)?
To work as a journeyman in our workshops, you must have completed the relevant apprenticeship. Ideally, you should include your journeyman’s certificate with your application; we will then typically get back to you by the next business day at the latest.
What are the working hours like for an automotive mechatronics technician specializing in commercial vehicle technology (m/f/d)?
Generally, we operate on a 40-hour workweek with a slightly staggered two-shift system, which may vary slightly from location to location. Typically, the late shift starts about an hour later than the early shift, allowing us to maintain our opening hours as effectively as possible without requiring overtime. Occasional Saturday work is scheduled every two or three weeks, depending on the location, but is always compensated with a day off, ensuring that the weekly 40-hour workweek is not exceeded. Should overtime occur in individual cases, it is recorded in the overtime account and compensated accordingly.
What are the working hours like for employees in the spare parts warehouse (m/f/d)?
We generally work 40 hours per week. To best meet our current operating hours without working overtime, we operate on a two-shift system with slightly staggered work hours between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
What are the working hours like in sales?
Unless otherwise agreed with you, a trust-based work schedule applies to sales consulting.

In the administrative department, flexible working hours apply within a 40-hour workweek, with core working hours and an overtime account.
